Brief Outlines:- Serlui ‘B’ Small Hydel Project ( 3 x 4 ) MW installed capacity plants in the river of Serlui near Bilkhawthlir Village in Kolasib District, Mizoram. The Detail Project Report was submitted for cabinet consideration during 1999 and the approved was conveyed on 16.02.1999. Major components of the works were awarded to BHEL-MECON consortium as turnkey basis during December 2003 and the actual construction work started in November 2004. The work is going on in full swing. General description of the Project were :-· Dam :- It is a homogeneous earth fill dam of 293.00 m length at the top, height is 51.30 m, top width free board is 1.50 m above MWL and river width at bottom is 20.00 m. · Spillway Shaft :- It is located on the left bank of the river having design discharge of 1857 cumecs. diameter is 8.00 m and connected with spill tunnel. · Diversion / Power Tunnel :- Diversion / Power Tunnel of concrete lining is 415.65 m length and 3.75 diameter of simple horse shoe shape and open channel of 98.00 m. · Pressure Tunnel :- The length of Steel lined pressure tunnel is 135.36 m of 3.00 m diameter up to trifurcation. The diameter after trifurcation is 2.00 m and it is steel conduit. · Power Intake Tunnel :- It is 3.75 m diameter and 41.75 m length tunnel. · Power House :- It is a semi underground Power House located at the right bank of the river at the toe of the dam. Size 45 m x 20.5 m with vertical Shaft Kaplan Turbine, 3 Nos having capacity of 4.00 MW each. The annual generation is anticipated as 35.00 GWH. · With the completion of the project, Builum village will be submerged for which adequate compensation and rehabilitation schemes have been provided Duration of Project :- 3 ½ Years. Commencement of the project :- November 2004 actual construction work started. Date of Completion / commission :- July 2008 ( Expected ). Project Cost :- Rs. 191.13 Crores. Name of Contractor of the project :- M/S BHEL/MECON Consortium. |
